SHREWSBURY KRAZY RACES LAUNCHES SEARCH FOR 2024 CHARITY PARTNER
25 Oct 2023

Krazy Races is on the lookout for a Shrewsbury based Charity for 2024. Shrewsbury Krazy Races will return on Sunday 26th May to celebrate 5 years since the event first took Shrewsbury by storm and will feature a special event after party. The soapbox derby event  first came to Shrewsbury in 2019, with the inaugural event winning ‘Best new event in the U.K’ at The National Outdoor Events Awards before returning for a second year in 2022 to entertain over 17,500 people in Shrewsbury Quarry. The Shropshire based company has since taken the event to locations across the country raising over £100,000 for charity in 2023 alone.

The Headline Charity partnership allows the charity to collect and receive funds through several revenue streams while putting the charity front and centre of the event. For the return of Shrewsbury Krazy Races, the team have decided to ask charities from Shrewsbury to come forward and contact event organisers before a consultation period will take place followed by a public vote.

The partnership will run from Monday 27th November until two weeks after Shrewsbury Krazy Races finishes on the 9th June 2024. This will give our local charity the chance to raise money and awareness at the ‘Kraziest’ event in town!

As part of the partnership, the selected charity will be given the opportunity to fundraise at the Krazy Races scrutineer event which takes place between 2-4 weeks before the main Soapbox event on Sunday 26th May 2024. The selected charity  will also feature on the Krazy Races website with a go fund me link set up for the event. As well as the Krazy Races social media channels.

We work closely with our headline charity partner to help integrate them into the heart of the event, giving them as many opportunities as we can  to raise as much as possible! This is our first time asking the public to recommend and vote for a local charity that they are passionate about and we are excited to meet and work with the eventual winner.”
