Krazy Races, the popular, free to attend national soapbox derby which took
Northwich by storm earlier this year is set to return on Sunday 16th July 2023.
Today, the team behind Krazy Races have launched the search for its headline
charity partner for Northwich Krazy Races 2023.

The popular soapbox derby event that sees a mixture of local and business
teams, build and race weird & wacky soapboxes through the centre of Towns &
cities while raising money for local charities has seen nearly 50,000 people
coming out to support the free to attend events when Krazy Races visited
Shropshire, Cheshire and Wolverhampton City Centre this Summer.

Since the event's creation back in 2018, Krazy Races has raised over £40,000 for
local charities and good causes. Every team who enters a soapbox raises money
for a local charity close to their heart with the event backing a headline charity
partner who has a big presence on and leading up to the day.

In 2022, Krazy Races partnered with national charity Macmillan Cancer Support for
all its Summer events. The partnership allowed the charity to collect and receive
funds through several revenue streams including; car park donations, event
brochure money as well as hundreds of pounds through cake sales and raffles.
The final total for the year for Macmillan and other local charities is over £30,000.

For the return of Northwich Krazy Races, the team have decided to ask charities
from Northwich to come forward and contact event organisers before a
consultation period will take place followed by a public vote.
The partnership will run from Thursday 3rd November until two weeks after
Northwich Krazy Races finishes on the 16th July 2023. This will give one local
charity the chance to raise money and awareness at the ‘Kraziest’ event in town!
As part of the partnership, the selected charity will be given the opportunity to
fundraise at the Krazy Races scrutineer event which takes place between 2-4
weeks before the main Soapbox event on Sunday 16th July 2023. The selected
charity will also feature on the Krazy Races website with a go fund me link set up
for the event. As well as the Krazy Races social media channels.

Dates for Krazy Races Charity selection process;
7th September-9th October- Northwich charities invited to put themselves
forward by emailing or completing the Northwich charity application form 
9th October- Entry closes
10th-13th October- Consultation with charities
14th October- 2nd November- Public Vote via Krazy Races social media channels.
3rd November 2022- Chosen charity announced.

Criteria for charities;
1. A not-for-profit charity
2. Have a UK Registered Charity Number
3. Located within 10 miles of the Northwich postcode area, with activities
directly benefiting the people of Northwich
4. Staff/volunteers able to attend the event on Sunday 16th July
5. A good connection with local businesses to encourage them to enter a
soapbox on your behalf.
6. A commitment to promote our event locally and on your website/ social
media channels as well as through local PR & media.

vote for a local charity that they are passionate about and we are excited to meet
and work with the eventual winner.”

Northwich Krazy Races charity partner application opens today. Interested
charities need to email before midnight on the 7th
October for a chance to be chosen by the public through an online vote, which will
take place from 14th October.
